Dividend Yield (DY)
Dividend yield (Dy) is the percentage of profit from the shares paid in the form of dividends. It is calculated as a percentage of the last paid a dividend in the current market price of share. It can be used by investors to monitor the performance of their investments and compare it with other investments.
Market value of share divided by dividends paid per share can be used by investors to calculate how much do they have to wait in order to cover the investment by paid dividends. When this parameter is too high the share is overvalued.
